Petrichor

“I could smell the earth… Life sprung out.”

And so it came,
Our long awaited rain.
Stormy clouds
And thunder bolt
Ushered in its stay.
Nature rejoiced
With flashes of lightning;
The animals howled
And hid.
While drops from the heaven’s fell
Glistening each path
In wonderous prisms;
Dry no more
Screamed the lands.
And in his warm bed
Lay man.
